Stylish in Brussels!

This time we made a quick trip to Brussels. The Belgian capital has plenty of interesting things to see and we didn't want to miss the opportunity of drinking the best Belgian beer and eating the amazing local chocolate...mmm actually that's the main reason why we went there.
My style in Brussels was pretty fresh but sophisticated; The high rise jeans are coming back so this outfit is inspired by a retro style from the 70's. That's a great piece to combine with a basic shirt and other leather pieces which give a sense of rebellion.

As usual! Be ready with your camera while you are strolling around. The camera is sacred...and in Belgium there re plenty of interesting stuffs which deserve to be photographed !
Visit the European Parliament! This is what makes Brussels the capital city of the European Union.
Eat chocolate! Belgium is famed for its high quality chocolate and over 2,000 chocolatiers.
Please don't go there whether you are in diet! We found lots of delicious bakeries that came out from a fairy tail... Some of the typical Belgian desserts are: Waffles, Speculoos, Smoutebollen or tarte au riz... eating those things is a total pleasure.
Visit a museum! in our case we went to The Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences. The dinosaur hall of the museum is the world's largest museum hall completely dedicated to dinosaurs.
Visit the stylish and fashionable area from Brussels. Avenue Louise or Louizalaan is a major thoroughfare in Brussels. Many of the big fashion names can be found like Chanel, Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace and Christian Dior.
Buy shoes! I don't know what Belgium has with shoes... But we were amazed by all the shoe stores we'd found around! It's women's paradise :P They are very cheap and you got tonnes of options to select. We would recommend especially to visit the town center and go around Avenue Louise (Louizalaan) is one of the oldest streets in the city, where, along with the nearby Boulevard de Waterloo & Avenue de la Toison d’Or area. Also, Rue Neuve (Nieuwstraat) is the main shooping street in Brussels. It is very close to Grand Place.

The Art School

‘The Art School' is a small collection that I’ve created couple of months ago when I got extremely inspired by the Pop Art movement; I wanted to include imagery, bright colours and a kind of personal symbolism which is a representative characteristic of Pop Art. The entirely outfit has been created by me, except for the shoes.
My inspiration came from thinking about a young art student from the 60’s in the U.K, one of the members of the ‘Independent Group’ who was a young painter boosting its love for expression and prevailing traditional views of art.

The strong attitude that Pop Art shows influenced me to experiment with Denim to make an asymmetric skirt cutting the fabric and changing its order. Also, the utilisation of images and the kitschy style which Pop Art brings gave me the idea of painting a basic shirt with a message written ‘I love art’ in a funny way using school tools as a font. The jumper is the result of my hand knitted work, the sleeves and the neck have been exaggerated to give a sense of rebellion, and it is also the piece that gives all the colouring to the look. The bag is the piece that I like more because I literally took a real frame that I attached to simple laptop bag, I screwed to the bag and then I framed a famous Roy Lichtenstein painting, so it looks like you are holding a real painting on its framework.
